About Legamoney

Our mission

Legamoney exists to make consequential decisions about money, coverage, and legal obligations easier to understand. We publish plain-language explainers and structured comparisons across four areas: finance and SaaS tools, loans and mortgages, insurance, and everyday legal topics.

Editorial approach

Every piece starts with a question a reader is actually trying to answer. We research against primary sources — regulator guidance, official documentation, and provider terms — then write with the assumption that the reader has no background in the subject. Articles carry a published date and a last-updated date, and we revisit them when the underlying rules or products change.

We do not publish sponsored articles disguised as editorial, and no advertiser reviews our content before it goes live.

What we cover

Legamoney is organised into four editorial verticals, each with its own desk and named contributors:

  • Finance & SaaS — budgeting, saving, business software, fintech tools, and the pricing and fee structures behind them.
  • Loans & Mortgages — mortgage payments, refinancing, personal and student loans, credit scores, and debt payoff strategies, supported by worked examples and interactive calculators.
  • Insurance — auto, home, health, life, travel, and business coverage, with plain-language explanations of deductibles, premiums, and policy terms.
  • Legal — consumer rights, contracts, business formation, estate planning, and everyday legal questions, written for non-lawyers.

Who writes for Legamoney

Articles are written and reviewed by named contributors with subject-matter backgrounds — mortgage specialists, insurance analysts, legal writers, and finance editors. Every article shows its author and reviewer, and each contributor has a public profile listing their expertise and published work. You can browse the full team on our authors page.

How we make money

Legamoney is funded by advertising. Advertising never influences our editorial conclusions, and paid placements are always labelled. Our full approach to sourcing, corrections, and independence is set out in our editorial policy.

If you spot an error, tell us. We verify every correction request against primary sources, update the article, and re-date the page so readers can see it has been revised.
